Our coaching team combines clinical knowledge, real-world movement experience, and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals living with Movement disorders. We are committed to helping every fighter improve strength, confidence, mobility, and quality of life through safe, effective, evidence-based exercise.
Lisa Church, Physical Therapist Asst, CPT
Head Coach /Parkinson’s Movement Specialist
Lisa is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) with over a decade of clinical experience helping individuals improve mobility, strength, balance, and confidence in their daily lives. Since becoming licensed in 2014, Lisa has worked extensively in sports rehab, outpatient PT, and home health care, specializing in neurological conditions including Parkinson’s disease, ALS, stroke recovery, and complex balance disorders.
Lisa’s background combines medical rehabilitation with fitness-based movement training. Prior to becoming a PTA, she worked as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor teaching kickboxing, strength training, yoga-inspired mobility training, and high-energy group classes with up to hundreds of participants throughout the US. . Her diverse background allows her to bridge the gap between traditional therapy and engaging, motivating exercise programs that improve real-world function.
She is the founder of Only Parkinson’s and The Home Stretch, SeniorfittUSA, and more with programs focused on improving posture, flexibility, strength, and functional movement for many special groups from high functioning athletes to individuals experiencing neurological or mobility challenges. Lisa is passionate about helping people maintain independence, prevent falls, and continue doing the activities they enjoy for as long as possible.
Dewey Buxton
Boxing Coach
Dewey brings energy, encouragement, and motivation to every class. With a strong interest in fitness and athletic training, he supports fighters through hands-on mitt work and positive reinforcement throughout sessions.
As the former primary caregiver for his elderly mother, Dewey understands the physical and emotional challenges families face when supporting loved ones with health limitations.
Dewey continues to expand his knowledge of Parkinson’s-specific exercise techniques as part of the Rock Steady Boxing coaching team.
